Dr. Mahnke

  • Sheela Mahnke

Sheela Mahnke was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. She received her undergraduate degree from Duke University and then went on to Nashville, Tennessee, for her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She was fortunate to meet her husband there and together they moved to Connecticut where Dr. Mahnke completed her Pediatric Residency at Yale New Haven Hospital. After residency, she and her husband moved out to Colorado to be closer to family and to the mountains. She now considers Colorado home.

Since moving to Colorado in 2002 Dr. Mahnke has been working as a general pediatrician. She is board certified and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has worked for private practice in Broomfield, Colorado, as well as for Rocky Mountain Youth Clinics in Denver. She has special interests in infectious diseases and child advocacy.

Dr. Mahnke finds pediatrics very rewarding and challenging. She values the relationships that she forms between her families and patients. She understands the amazing joys and stresses that come with being a parent. As a pediatrician she hopes to provide good medical advice through open communication with parents and their children.

Dr. Mahnke lives in Westminster with her husband and their two young boys. She spends most of her free time at playgrounds, parks, and pools. Her hobbies include music, yoga, and being outdoors.

Dr. Mahnke shares her patients with Dr. Diana Tanney. Both Dr. Mahnke and Dr. Tanney work part-time and are here when the other is not.
